We’ve been manufacturing portable mortar pumps for Pro-Point Southwest for a number of years with great results. The fast, efficient and high-quality method to apply mortar to raked joints, these machines are robust electromechanical units fully fabricated in our Exeter facility and with all electronic circuits also assembled and fitted by us.
Looking for further increases in productivity, Kevin and Gary from Pro-Point Southwest asked us if we could investigate and design in reductions to the overall weight of the unit to make it even easier to manoeuvre around scaffolding and much lighter to raise up the various lift levels encountered when re-pointing taller buildings.
After an engineering appraisal of areas that could be improved we have now redesigned most of the overall assembly to utilise lightweight high strength aluminium with a few specific features left in mild steel to preserve engineering integrity of high contact, high wear areas. Achieving a 37% saving in overall unit weight, what used to be a two-person lift can now be achieved single handedly, all without compromise to the functionality or overall robustness of the unit.
Pro-Point Southwest, as well as utilising the pumped mortar unit for their own installations, also offer machines for sale direct to professional users. With their efficient peristaltic pump system, now housed in the lightweight highly durable carcase with long life plug and play 110V electrical system these really are the way to go for re-pointing professionals and the system of choice for many specifying architects - Metalwork Solutions Ltd. & Direct Assembly Solutions Ltd. are really excited to continue to manufacture the complete mortar pumping solution for Kevin & Gary. Say pump it up, the only way is up.
